New terms are used this year to describe and identify 2D shapes, including parallel and perpendicular. Shapes will be drawn and made with increasing accuracy. Plenty of fun can be had with symmetry, reflections and translations, especially when using co-ordinates.
Working with the properties of 2D and 3D shapes.
Drawing the reflections of shapes in the mirror lines: a mirror is very useful to help with this.
Using co-ordinates to help with reflecting and translating shapes.
Here are sets of axes with positive numbers on the y-axis, but positive and negative numbers on the x-axis.
Working with co-ordinates in all four quadrants, using positive and negative numbers.
