# Year 2 Maths Mastery

The mastery approach continues to encourage children to move from using concrete objects (cubes, counters etc) to pictorial representations (bar models, number lines etc) and finally to the abstract.

The aim is to ensure that all children can become fluent in mathematics and be able to reason and solve problems. By the end of the year children should be able to use facts and procedures confidently, recall key facts and be able to explain their thinking.

We have organised the terms using a typical maths mastery block programme. At the moment we have included enough material for one worksheet/set a day. See the links below for more detail about each block.
