Some word problems that need at least two steps to find the answer. This makes them much harder, so careful thinking is needed.
Comparing numbers, lengths and amounts and finding the number half way between two others.
Remember to move the digits two places to the right to divide by 100.
Finding fractions of numbers: most of these need to be done in two steps.
Finding a fraction between two other fractions shows a really good understanding of equivalence.
Adding two 3-digit numbers mentally. Often it is best to start with the hundreds, then the tens and finally the units; this is the opposite order than when using written methods.
Multiply a decimal fraction by 10 or 100: remember to move the digits one place to the left or two places to the left.
Move each digit one place to the right to divide by 10, two places to divide by 100; including the ones moving across the decimal point into the tenths.
More short division practice. When dividing money don't forget to work to two decimal places.
Write the fractions as decimals. Where necessary go to two decimal places.
